Child Developmental Checks

When your baby is around 6 weeks old, they will be invited for a Child Developmental Check.

This routine check allows the GP to assess your baby’s growth and development, ensure they are progressing well, and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

It is recommended that this check is completed before your baby begins their routine childhood vaccinations.

The surgery will send you an appointment for your baby’s developmental check. Wherever possible, this appointment will be arranged at the same time as your postnatal check, allowing both appointments to be completed during one visit.
