Appointments with an ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner)

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Gail, is a highly experienced Registered Nurse who has undertaken additional specialist training and advanced clinical qualifications.

An ANP is able to:

• assess patients with a wide range of health problems
• examine, diagnose and treat many medical conditions
• prescribe medication where appropriate
• request investigations
• refer patients to other healthcare services or specialists when needed.

In many cases, an ANP can provide the same level of care for common medical conditions as a GP. You may therefore be offered an appointment with Gail instead of a GP, depending on your clinical needs.
